Regarding Toy Donations:
In response to all those who are so willing to send toys, we deeply thank you for
the same. However, Toybank India does not take toy donations from abroad for the
following reasons:
- To accept toys (or any goods) from abroad requires import and custom duties which
along with the shipping cost would be greater than buying comparable, new toys from
India
- Currently we do not have a central collection point in the UK from where the toys
can be reliably scanned and shipped to us in a secure manner.
- There is no immediate need of importing toys because of a healthy, local supply
of donated toys.
It has been far more challenging for us to raise funds than toys in India. Rural
India has almost 90% of working children and they are in most need of a happy childhood.
Toybank dreams of reaching out to them this year with the funds we raise.
